The 2008 motorhomes, travel trailers and truck campers are
beginning to arrive at RV dealerships, and here’s a preview
of what’s being offered by some popular brands.
Host Toy Hauler
Host Industries has followed the introduction of its innovative
Class C motorhome built on a Ford F-550 chassis with a toy hauler
version that has 14,000 pounds of towing capacity and optional
four-wheel drive.
The new toy hauler replicates the design of the 35-foot Host
330 coach but replaces the rear bedroom with a toy hauler garage.
The garage has a sealed door closing it off from the living area and
is big enough to haul two quads, motorcycles, golf cart or other
sports gear. The rear ramp door has a rating of 2,500 pounds.
Like Host’s other Class C motor coaches, it features four leather
captain’s chairs for safe and comfortable travel. It can sleep as many
Host Toy Hauler
as eight, with an overhead
queen bed, optional foldout beds in the garage, and a
leather sofa and optional U-shaped dinette, both of
which convert to beds. Two
slideouts provide extra
room in the kitchen and living areas.
The coach is powered by a 6.4L Twin Turbo Power Stroke diesel
engine with 350 horsepower. The F-550’s wide frame allows for a
tight turning radius, and Host says the heavy suspension system
provides superior handling.
Standard features include laminated tile floors, hardwood cabinets, solid-surface countertops, a large private bath, Sirius satellite
radio, a 5.5 Onan LP generator, a roof-mounted antenna, a flat
screen LCD TV, an AM/FM/CD/DVD/MP3 player, an outdoor
shower/cleaning station and a tow hitch.
Base price is $169,260.
