Fall Salem RV Show
Oct. 12–14 — Shoppers will be able to compare more than 500
new and used RVs from 14 of Oregon’s largest dealers at the Fall Salem
RV Show at the Oregon State Fairgrounds in Salem. The show will
have two arenas full of RVs, with units spread over nearly three acres.
Special features will include an appearance Friday by nationally syndicated talk how host Lars Larson, who will broadcast from
the RV show on KXL 750 AM and be available to talk to fans and
sign autographs.
Participating dealers include Al’s Trailer Sales, Curtis Trailer
Sales, Fred’s RV World, Funtime RV, Guaranty RV Center, Guaranty
Trailer and Van, Highway Trailer Sales, Johnson RV, NW RV Sales,
Olinger Travel Homes, On the Way RV, Paradise RV, Wagers Trailer
Sales and Willamette Valley RV Center.
The show will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and
Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In addition to new and used RVs, the show will include vendor
booths showcasing RV accessories and other products related to
the RV lifestyle.
The show will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and
Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, $5 for students 13 to 18

Tacoma Fall RV Show
Oct. 3–7 —More than 500 RVs will be showcased over eight
acres at the Tacoma Fall RV Show at the Tacoma Dome. Dealers
and factory representatives will be on hand to discuss their products, and financing will be available on site. The show will include
RV accessories and information on travel destinations.
The show will open at 11 a.m. daily and close at 8 p.m.
Wednesday and Thursday, 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 5 p.m.
Sunday. Admission is $9 for adults, $7 weekdays for persons 62 and
older and $5 for juniors 6 to 16. Children 5 and younger will be

Recreation Show
Sept. 13–16— Buyers can
see fuel-efficient 2008 RVs that

advantage of end-of-the-model-year deals at the Fall RV
and Outdoor Recreation Show
at Qwest Field and Event
Center in Seattle.

Pomeroy Pumpkin Festival
Oct. 6–7 — The Pomeroy Living History Farm will holds its
annual pumpkin festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1 to
5 p.m. Sunday. The farm is a living history museum that demonstrates farm life in the 1920s. Attractions will include a hayride
down Pumpkin Lane with stops at the Pumpkin Patch, a hay bale
maze, games for children, entertainment and vendor booths. For

Wild Mushroom Celebration
Oct. 12–13 — Anticipating an abundance of wild mushrooms
on the Long Beach Peninsula this fall, restaurants and inns will
stage a series of tastings, dinners, field excursions and cooking
demonstrations. Chefs will showcase wild mushrooms in combination with fresh fish, Willipa Bay oysters, Dungeness crab, wild
berries and locally grown organic greens. For information on

Northwest Trek Hoot ‘n’ Howl
Oct. 26–27 — Northwest Trek Wildlife Park, the 723-acre zoological park 35 miles southeast of Tacoma, is open to crowds in the
evening only during Hoot ‘n’ Howl, a non-scary Halloween event that
is designed for families with young children, but is open to all ages.
The attractions will include games, a stroller-decorating contest, children’s crafts, sing-alongs, and displays of animals in eerie
theatrical lighting. The event will run from 6 to 10 p.m.
Reservations are advised since capacity is limited. Tickets bought
in advance are $8 for children 3 to 12 and $10 for older children
